RECENT SESSIONS & MOTHERHOOD IN LYNCHBURG
Hi! I’m Andria
I love photography, branding and website design, newborn snuggles, baking, playing with my kids, and documenting what matters most. One of my favorite quotes is “Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?” by Mary Oliver and I try to live that out each day by noticing the beauty in ordinary days and filling my time with things that I love to do.
I started my photography journey right out of high school, 20 years ago. I am still in awe that I get to have my dream job and will never take this gift for granted.
This blog is my journal with recent sessions and information about motherhood in Lynchburg, VA. Click on any image below to view more photos and information. Thanks for stopping by!
Welcoming Baby August | Lynchburg, VA Newborn Photographer
There’s something so special about documenting the earliest days of a new baby’s life—and Baby August made his debut in the sweetest way.
August came to the studio with his two big brothers, Xander and Theo, and they were just the best with him. We split their session into two parts—sibling portraits on one day and newborn portraits on another—which gave us the perfect amount of time to slow down and capture each part of this story without rushing. With young kids, that extra time can make all the difference.
Xander and Theo were full of personality and so gentle with their new baby brother. You could already tell they were settling into their new roles as protectors and best friends. Some of my favorite sibling shots came from their interactions with August—natural, sweet, and full of love.
During his newborn session, August surprised us with a few wide-awake moments (those little curious eyes!) and even gave us the sweetest little smile. I always say those expressions are little gifts—they show up when you least expect them, and they never get old.
One of my favorite parts of this session was incorporating a little nod to Dad’s college football days. We used a football as a fun detail in a few of the photos, and it added such a personal and playful touch.
Mom and Dad were so kind and easygoing, and it was clear how much love already surrounded this little guy. Watching a family grow and seeing the joy that a new baby brings never gets old—and August’s session was a reminder of how powerful and tender those early moments can be.
August, you are so loved—and I’m so honored I got to capture your beginning.
Honor Lynchburg, VA Newborn Photographer
One of the things I love most about newborn photography is creating a relaxed, stress-free experience for families. That’s why I always offer the option to split the newborn session and family portraits into two separate sessions. This gives parents and siblings the chance to fully enjoy each moment without feeling rushed, and it allows me to capture both those fresh, sleepy newborn details and the special family connections in the most natural way.
Honor’s session was the perfect example of why I love this approach! We started with her solo newborn portraits, where she was so sweet and peaceful, snuggled up in soft blankets. But what truly melted my heart were the candid moments with her siblings. There’s something so pure about the way big brothers and sisters instinctively shower their new baby with love—gentle snuggles, forehead kisses, and tiny hands reaching out to hold her. These are the moments that tell the story of a growing family, and I feel so honored (pun intended!) to capture them.
A little while later, her family returned for their full family portraits. This second session gave them the space to focus on celebrating their newest addition together without the unpredictability of a long newborn session. The result? Genuine smiles, relaxed parents, and beautiful images that showcase their love as a family.
If you’re expecting and wondering how to create a calm, enjoyable photography experience, I’d love to chat about the best approach for your family. Whether we split the session or capture everything in one day, my goal is always to make sure you walk away with timeless images and a stress-free experience!
Chick-fil-A themed 1st Birthday Photos | Forest, VA
Happy Birthday Nugget! Her mom wanted to incorporate her nickname into her birthday and chose a Chick-fil-A themed photo session and party. Who doesn’t love chick-fil-A?!?! This photo session was filled with messy fun and captured love, the laughter, and the joy that comes with turning one.
Themed portrait sessions are a great way to add personal touches to milestone moments. They bring a fun, creative twist that makes your baby’s special day even more memorable. Whether it’s a favorite toy, movie, or hobby, the theme can reflect your baby’s personality and make for some unforgettable photos.
If you’re looking for something special to mark your baby’s first birthday or any other milestone, I’d love to help bring your vision to life! From simple setups to elaborate themed sessions, I work closely with families to design the perfect portrait session to match their style and story.
